Cocktails in a jug – Mozzie Bite

I have a few friends that drink moscato. And they also seem to be the ones whose spirit of choice is vodka. This punch is for them. It is aromatic but not flavour intense so I use a clean tasting vodka.

Recipients: Those with a sweet tooth and mature ladies

Type: Jug

EQUIPMENT

Large jug. If you have a small jug make a half measure at a time.

Stirring implement like a chopstick or big spoon

INGREDIENTS

750 ml bottle sparkling moscato. Pink is good but not essential.

100ml vodka

Half of a 400g tin of lychees in juice or syrup

Ice

METHOD

Pour moscato, vodka, lychees and their juice/syrup in a jug.

Stir.

Top with ice.

ADJUST

Add lemon juice to taste if you like.

SERVE

At home, I make this and serve it in a large jug. I just plonk it on the table. And then add ice to the jug or glasses, if the weather is warm.

When this drink is not serving a large group I’ve put it in the fridge, without ice in the jug, and poured as needed.

The longer it sits the lychees will absorb some vodka and taste awesomely grown up.

C Here is a modified version, my sister Adele served, in mason jars. Adele has named this Ticket To Ride because drinkers can travel with no spills. She jazzed hers up with strawberries and some apple/raspberry juice.
