Frangelina is like drinking sunshine

Frangelina is a sweet, elegant and strong spiced rum cocktail.

Whether you admire her or think otherwise, you can’t deny Angelina Jolie is committed to her children. Her dedication and an opportunity to cornily combine her name with a hazelnut liqueur caused us to dedicate this cocktail to a standout mother.

The combination of the spiced rum and Frangelico provides a smooth and exotic taste sensation for your pallet. It is so yum you won’t believe it. Then you’ll need another to make sure. And maybe even a third.

Recipients: Lovers of sweet aroma. Not for those prone to sculling drinks. Frangelina is deceptively strong.

Type: Shaken

EQUIPMENT

Shaker

Shallow cocktail glass

INGREDIENTS

30ml Frangelico or other hazelnut liqueur

30ml spiced rum

10ml lime cordial

5ml lime juice

Ice

METHOD

Pour Frangelico, spiced rum, lime cordial and lime juice into your shaker along with a scoop of ice.

Shake heaps. I stop shaking when the outside of the shaker is very frosty.

Strain the liquid from your shaker into your shallow cocktail glass.

ADJUST

Add 15-30ml ginger ale, soda or lemonade if you find it too strong.

SERVE

Serve it in the glass you made it in.

Garnish with a lime slice, if you like. We don’t bother, most of the time. Hahaha!

During these test photos, the lovely Helen Connolly created peel flowers for Frangelina. Thanks, Helen! We look forward to more inspired garnishes for future recipes.

ANECDOTE

I made a pack of these ingredients for our son’s Year Five teacher in appreciation of her care. It was well received.
