LAMESE

I contribute most of the content.

The purpose of this blog is to keep track of cocktail recipes that work, and have them on hand.

Over the years we’ve enjoyed drinks made for us by expert alcohol artists while out and about.  So much so, we’ve had to reinvent, appropriate and amend drinks we’ve enjoyed, approximating their flavours and textures using ingredients in our pantries.

I find it difficult to have a cocktail bar’s full range of  liqueurs, mixers and garnishes at home. Not a purist, I’m happy enough to have a tasty cocktail or two on the weekend. It doesn’t need to be built the way a mixologist first created it in a 1920s speakeasy inspired by a visiting dignitary.

These recipes are mash ups and short cuts but we’ve used them, a lot. I’m not including anything that isn’t downed with gusto.

We hope you try one or two and please send us your recipes so others can enjoy what you’ve discovered.

My day job is graphic design and proprietor at Words And Pictures.

SUE

Sue built the bones of the blog. If it was to wait for me we’d still be waiting. She’s the doer.

She is also a small food genius, a skill that requires the patience I lack. We hope to post some of her finger food recipes that we’ve paired with cocktails.

Sue is also adventurous. She cheerfully accepts her role as cocktail guinea pig. This might not sound like much but I don’t have many of these left.

Sue’s day job is as a business consultant in the areas of communication, sales and marketing. She assists businesses engage their audience via technology and relationships. She is an established public speaker, MC and interviewer.

ADELE

Adele is my sister. She contributes content via ideas, recipes and veto.

She is a salad genius, another skill I’m reluctant to acquire. And has also served as a cocktail guinea pig, for years. As you can see from the photo, she’s thriving. A bit of red cordial never hurt anyone.

Being a creative communicator, Adele is responsible for the names of cocktails, which is where her power of veto kicks in.

Adele’s day job is graphic and art direction. She’s good at it.
