Hello Berry
We’ve tried LOTS (hehehe!) of red wine punch, sangria and wine based cocktail recipes. The issue has always been consistency. Wine varies. Unless you are using the same non vintage brand and varietal the end result will vary.
So we decided to come up with a red wine punch that works with the worst wine you can manage to sip. And will make your guests sing with happy taste!
Recipients: Everyone. Honestly.
Type: Jug
EQUIPMENT
Jug
Liquid measure
INGREDIENTS
2 cups of red wine
1/2 cup port
Half cup vodka
1/2 cup red cordial, blackcurrant cordial or any specific berry flavoured cordial
2 cups of lemonade or soda water
Garnish
Frozen or fresh berries
METHOD
Pour red wine into your jug.
Add port into your jug.
Include vodka into your jug.
Mix cordial into your jug.
Stir and taste it.
Add lemonade if it isn’t sweet enough for you. Or if you are happy with the sweetness add soda water.
SERVE
If it is a warm day, I recommend serving it in the jug alongside glasses of ice.
Or add ice to the jug.
OPTIONAL
1. If I choose to finish this with soda water I swap the berry garnish out for orange slices.
2. These are the quantities we use. While hosting, I find it easier to stick with measured quantities. However, if you prefer to free pour and be creative, this recipe will still work.
Here’s us trying out YouTube by making Hello Berry. Please, be kind. We are new at this 🙂
ANECDOTE
Hello Berry has been happily tested over and over again. When I’m asked to make a cocktail jug at a party, she is the first recipe that comes into my head.
